Just a quick reminder that January 4th, 2011 is our first day back at Kick City!

I am really looking forward to getting back in and working out! I hope that you had some nice holiday time and are ready to get back to regular classes!

2011 looks to be like a great year- whether you are a new student starting to work out and build your confidence or a third degree black belt looking for the next steps to mastery!

See you in class!

Santa Claus Parade

Be part of the Kick City crew that is joining in to to walk in the LIVE UNITED human float at the Penticton Santa Parade on Saturday December 4.

The Santa Parade starts at 4:30 and goes along Main Street from White Avenue to Starbucks and then down Front Street ending at Okanagan Lake Park west of the Art Gallery.

Walkers need to gather by 4:10 on White Avenue on the east side of Main Street (beside the empty Lloyd Gallery lot). We are the 5th float – near the beginning of the parade.

When you get there, we will have a big box of LIVE UNITED shirts. Claim one and put it over your warm winter clothes.  We have an assortment of adult M, L, XL and XXL.  In my experience, there isn’t a huge difference between sizes so not to worry about getting just the right one.  We will also have santa hats for the first 72 people!

Along the parade route, we encourage you to wave and have chosen not to throw candy as there will be a number of kids walking with us.  Parents are responsible for their children.

At the end, we will have a vehicle in front of Okanagan Lake Park, by the Lakeside parkade, and will collect shirts and Santa hats for the next event.

Thanks for joining on us in this creative expression of community.  We welcome you to join in – contact me at danalbas@shaw.ca or call 250 486-2199!

See you Saturday.

Happy Birthday Mr. Guenther!!!

Today is Mr. Guenther’s birthday. He being the humble black belt that he is, only disclosed this as he completed his classes and escaped without having to do a round of submission wrestling with me.

He is obviously not just a year older, but a year wiser as well!

Again, happy birthday to a hard working black belt!!!

Great work on Belt tests!

I just want to say how happy I was as a teacher with the last round of belt tests. Students were certainly performing excellently! I salute those who tested and encourage everyone to bring out their best and get ready for our next examinations in December!

On Thursday and Friday, we will be conducting stripe tests (regular classes for masters classes) and the sign up sheet for belt tests is at the front counter. The martial arts belt tests will be conducted by myself this Saturday October 2nd, 2010 from 9:30 AM- 2:30 PM at Kick City Martial Arts. Some people have better Labour Day’s than others

 Dear parents and students,

Summer sure has gone by fast! I hope all of you enjoy your weekend. Just a reminder that there will be no kids classes at Kick City on Tuesday. There will be a cardio kickboxing workout (put on by Brenda) and open training for the adult group.

We have a bunch of cool things happening this fall at Kick City: new shirts, new uniforms and with hard work, some new black belts!

Enjoy what’s left of your weekend- see you at Kick City!

sincerely,

Dan Albas
